Pssst....I have something to confess; I have nooo idea how I got this job. Well, that's not completely true. I have a good basic idea of the biology of it. But these kids really think I know what the hell I'm doing! Are they crazy???
My kids (three of them by my last count) range in age from 7 going on 17, to 2. I have two girls & one boy. I am so lucky and I know this. But I think about how effortlessly my Mom seemed to do this job, and I feel painfully inept.
I know you know what I'm talking about. Don't lie. You know you let your kids watch T.V. and sometimes give them ice cream for dinner and then lie in bed that night and think to yourself "Oh. My. God. My parents would NEVER have allowed us to do that." .
That's what this blog is about. The things we do that we didn't know parents were allowed to do. The ways we try to get through the day and the unbelievable guilt we try to assuage ourselves of right before we go to bed at night because we let the two year old watch an entire hour of television just so that I could check my facebook.
